Once you have cleaned and moisturized your skin, you should apply a primer before putting on any face makeup. This ensures your makeup stays put and looks good all evening long. Proceed to apply your favorite concealer and/or foundation. Find recommendations at Party and Beauty.
Highlighter and Bronzer
Apply a highlighter to your forehead (just a little), down the flat part of your nose, the middle of your chin, along your jawline, and on your upper cheekbones. Select the right tone to match your skin tone, and remember a little goes a long way!
If you want to add bronzer, brush it on where the sun would normally fall on your face.
Apply a thin layer of eyelid primer. Apply a neutral shadow to your upper eyelid, stopping just below the crease. Blend it into the crease. Apply a lighter shadow to the inner corners of your eyes, and a darker shade just above the crease. The darker shadow should be just above the crease, not touching your eyebrows. Blend the darker shadow into the crease. Draw a thin line of eyeliner just above your upper lash line. You can use a gel or pencil liner, whatever you prefer. You can add a thin line of dark shadow along your lower lash line if you wish. Finish off with a coat or two of mascara on your upper lashes.
The Final Touches
Blush will help prevent you from looking washed out. Apply to the apple of your cheeks – you can find this by smiling. Blend it well to avoid a harsh stripe. Apply lip balm to your lips and let it sit for a few minutes before blotting off. This preps your lips for lipstick and prevents them from drying out.
Using a lip pencil or lip liner, line your lips with a colour slightly darker than your natural lip colour. Apply a lipstick from the centre of your lips and swipe outwards. Blot your lips with a tissue to remove any excess.
Finish off with a setting spray, and you are good to go!
