5 Different Party Makeup Looks (Part 2)

In the previous post, you learned how to do a smoky eye and a cat eye. Here we discuss how to do a sparkly eye, a neutral eye, and a vamp look.

Sparkly Eye

A festive season party is a perfect time to bring out the sparkle! If you are nervous or hesitant about using glitter on your eyes, this tutorial will show you how to introduce it into your makeup look in a subtle way. Start with a primer over your lids, followed by a nude matte shadow. Take a slightly darker shadow to define the crease and the corner, and blend well.

A gel glitter is ideal – it is easy to put on, dries quickly, and it won’t fall off like with loose glitters. Brush the gel glitter over your lid, stopping short of the crease. Blend evenly over the lid with a small eyeshadow brush. Try to keep the layer thin – a little goes a long way! Finish up with a set of false lashes to really bring attention to the eyes.

Neutral

This is a great look for someone who doesn’t normally wear much makeup, or doesn’t want to make too much of a statement.

Apply a matte black shadow to your upper lashline with a brush, sweep it up to make a slight ‘flick’. Using a taupe brown, brush over your lid. Using a lighter shade, brush on the inner corner of your eyes, and on your brow bone.

Add half-lashes to the outer corner of your eyelashes. Line your lower lash with a black pencil, and finish off with a coat of mascara.

Vamp

Start with a primer on your lids, then brush on a black shadow, stopping just below your crease. Taking a dark purple shadow, brush along the crease and below your lower lashes, using a generous amount. Blend well. Finish off the eyes with thick false lashes, and to complete the overall look use a matte burgundy lipstick.
