5 Different Party Makeup Looks (Part 1)

Do you have a big event or party coming up, and are looking for the perfect makeup look? There are so many ways to use makeup to enhance your look. This article series will break down the 5 most popular party makeup looks, and how to do them.

Smokey Eye

A smokey eye – like the little black dress – is a party staple. Learn how to do a basic smokey eye and you will always be good to go!

Apply a cream concealer to get a smooth base on your eyelids. Trace your top lash line with an eye pencil, then dot between your lower lashes with the same pencil. Smudge your lash lines with a brush. Sweep a powder shadow over your lid, into the crease. Blend the color up and out. Brown, grey, and dark green work well, but burgundy is also becoming quite popular. Using a light, neutral, shadow, dust it over your brow bone. Finish with two coats of mascara.

Cat Eye

If you are looking for a seductive look for your party makeup, the cat eye is it! It can take quite a bit of practice to get right, to it is recommended to have a few trial runs before the night of the party!

A gel-based eyeliner that comes in pen form (kind of like a felt tip pen) is the easiest to start with. Line your lash line will small, slow strokes. When doing the ‘flick’ of the cat eye, follow the natural shape of your eye. Look at your lower lash line, and imagine it extended further – that is your line. Use small dots to create the line of the click, then join up the dots to create the final shape.

You can play around with the thickness, the length, and the shape of the cat eye until you find a look that works for you.
